Background

The OIC Labour Centre is a specialised institution of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The OIC Labour Centre provides a platform for 57 Member States to advance labour cooperation and strengthen labour market governance, supporting improved working conditions, equitable employment opportunities, and sustainable social protection.

The Centre’s vision is to foster inclusive and resilient labour markets across OIC Member States, grounded in decent work, effective social protection, and forward-looking policy approaches that respond to changing labour market needs.

In fulfilling its mission, OIC Labour Centre consolidates socio-economic efforts by supporting practical cooperation and policy action on labour governance, employment, social protection, and labour migration, advancing decent work across OIC Member States.

The OIC Labour Centre delivers its work through high-level and technical convenings, thematic sessions, capacity-building activities, and partnerships that facilitate knowledge exchange and peer learning among Member States.

The Centre’s focus on labour migration and labour mobility governance, supporting policy dialogue on core ADD themes including skills development and qualifications recognition, and contributing to policy-oriented exchanges on fair, well-managed mobility and sustainable labour market outcomes.
